Remedial Massage Therapy

I am a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist, Medical Acupuncturist, Reflexologist and also qualified in Osteopathic Spinal Manipulation™ and Osteopathic Articulation™, achieving my Level 5 BTEC at the renowned London School of Sports & Remedial Massage and Osteon Manual Therapy Training.

Currently practicing from my Log Cabin Clinic in the rear garden of my family home in Bury St Edmunds, I start off with a postural and joint assessment where necessary, and then use my extensive knowledge and expertise, to create a personal treatment plan for each and every client.

 

Before I became a Therapist, I served 22 years in the RAF Regiment and participated in many sports such as long distance running, martial arts, orienteering and swimming.

Hypnotherapy

I am a fully qualified and insured Hypnotherapist; I trained with the world renown and highly regarded UK Hypnosis Academy with whom I am now an Associated Trainer. I am also trained as a practitioner and Associated Trainer in the Kinetic Shift technique which is Active, Intuitive, Dynamic and Highly Effective.

Kinetic Shift is a rapid method combining several different techniques to resolve Fears, Phobias, Anxiety, and Weight Loss, Smoking and even PTSD and much more. We all know that we can’t express everything we want to verbally, so we use several other methods of communication and that is key to Kinetic Shift.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

 I am also a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) which is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.

It's most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.

How CBT works:

CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.

CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.

You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.

Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past.

It looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.

In addition to depression and anxiety disorders, CBT can also help with:

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Panic Disorder

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Fears & Phobias

  • Eating Disorders

  • Insomnia

  • Problems related to Alcohol misuse

CBT is also sometimes used to treat people with long-term health conditions, such as:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

Although CBT can't cure the physical symptoms of these conditions, it can help people cope better with their symptoms.
